Responsive design is the buzzword of the day. But is it the answer to everything? Isn’t responsive design more like the everyday blunderbuss, when sometimes all you really need is a plain old sniper rifle?
While designing the Robinson iPad App we found, for us, this was exactly the case. So instead of going for an acceptable representation on all - or at least - most mobile devices, we decided to just pick the one, our target audience was most fond of: the iPad.
Here we wanted to excel!
So we aimed for a striking user interface design as well as a seamless software interface between the TYPO3 backend and the iPad.
But how do you ensure organic user experience and prompt responsiveness as well as complete (or near complete) offline usage without unduly frustrating the user with overburdening upfront data transmission?
And how do you archive editorial-friendly simple and intuitive data administration, while imperatively trying to dispel conflictive framework restrictions?
